My Pretty Photo

We thank you for coming around and invite you to a fascinating journey into the realm of art and beautiful photography. All you have to do is grab a cup of tea, relax and enjoy the ride!
First, let us introduce your host: 'My Pretty Photo' is an Irish company, located in Blackrock Village, right near the sea of Dublin City, and managed by a team of 3 professional photographers.
But that's not all!
We're much more than simply 'the guys with the camera', dressed in black or otherwise. Much above that, we're seekers, researchers; truly, we are the beauty hunters.

Think of 'My Pretty Photo' as your very own and very personal beauty salon. Think of the luxurious feeling of red velvet, the drama of the black satin and the plush of golden glow. Then look around yourself and imagine amazing photography on your desk, over the fire place or on the walls.
Just like magic, it becomes the focus point of your home, bringing art into memories and joy to your soul.
Until recently such portraits were very highly priced, and only the rich were able to afford them.
Today, at 'My Pretty Photo' we promise to bring you unique art at prices to suit all budgets and serve all needs.
After all, why should only the superstars have sparkling eyes and glowing skin?

Think about it!
Every one of us has plenty of sparkle and natural glow! Why should ours go unnoticed?
We all deserve at least one beautiful portrait of our life time, and we're here to do just that!

What makes a beautiful photo? And how does a mere photo become a unique piece of art?
Colours and depth, sharpness and focus, tonality and perfect contrast, lights, filters and F stops are all important factors which tend to depend both on the performance of the camera and the knowledge of the photographer.
On the other hand, the feeling, or the ‘mood’ of the photo is a much more intimate quality, purposely created by the artist with the specific intent of communicating a personal message.
When these criteria are all at a right balance, the result is an amazing photo that crosses the border from a mere snap-shot into unique pieces of art.

Is it possible to take such a perfect photo, straight from the camera, eliminating all need for photo retouching?
Unfortunately, the answer is no.
There are some people out there who will tell you that once a photo has been enhanced it is the sure sign of failure, but the reality is that perfect photos, taken straight from the camera, are extremely rare.
Each photo we take needs at least the touch of a helping hand.
The problem here is simply to know when to stop.

Is photo retouching a result of our modern, digital times?
Again, the answer is no.
Photo manipulation has been applied to images since photography was invented. True, the methods were different, they involved a lot of messing around with acid solutions deep inside dark-rooms, but the reality remains that photo retouching has always been employed by photographers, and always will be.

What is a perfectly retouched photo? How far can you go?
Let us answer this question using an example well known by most of us.
A few days ago, while browsing ‘Eason’s’ magazines’ gallery, I came upon the cover of a famous magazine, with a picture of David and Victoria Beckham on the front page.
You may automatically think that since the subjects were such highly famous people, the photo itself must have been perfect.
Unfortunately, the answer is much different. Initially the photo was probably very good, but the forced retouching was so heavily done, that the result looked plastic, unnatural and almost ugly.
David and Victoria’s features were so intensively blurred, air brushed and retouched, that their faces lost not only the faintest shadow of a wrinkle, but also all pores and all details. The photo was now no more than a freak image of some plastic masks on eerie rubber mannequins, with human eyes and sharpened hair.
We assume that this incident happened at the specific request of David and Victoria Beckham, with no fault of the retouching artist himself.
This sad fact occurs when people, such as Victoria Beckham, with plastic breasts, plastic nails, plastic teeth and plastic hair, go one step further into plastic photography.
It is a classic example of photo retouching gone mad, and has nothing at all to do with art, in any form or shape.

The secret of perfect photo retouching lies in its mystery.
Perfect photo retouching must be practically invisible. It must be done in such a secret way that nobody will ever be able to detect its presence.
Surely, skin must glow, but it must still have pores, eyes must sparkle, but they still need depth, teeth must be white, but they needn’t blind you to death.

We strongly advise you to keep things as natural as possible.
You’re beautiful just as you are, wrinkles and all!
Our result will be an amazing portrait that lasts for generations to come, bringing art into memories and joy to your soul.

Welcome to ‘My Pretty Photo’, enjoy your stay and expect nothing but perfection!
